The original title of my event was to be:
A Leadership Dialogue
We don’t know what we don’t know.
AI is changing how we work, communicate, make decisions, and lead -
faster than most organisations know how to process. Many professionals are
quietly navigating tensions that no certification or technical course can fully
prepare us for.
How do we lead responsibly when technology evolves faster than organisational
culture?
What should remain deeply human?
How do we preserve judgement, trust, reflection, and meaningful connection in
increasingly AI-enabled workplaces?
I partnered with my husband Lumabit to launch a small cohort leadership learning starting in August, and
I wanted to start the conversation in my home country, with people
and perspectives I care about. My gathering on a Thursday evening on 16 July 2026 explored the human realities
emerging across organisations today, beyond the hype on technical expertise or
AI tools.
Michelle P Cheong, Lixin Lin, Eunice Huang and I took a stand (while seated) to share how we can enhance what makes us human, while leading with confidence in the age of AI.
(Ice Cream) I scream "Strengthen human connection, build inward adaptability, and integrate AI thoughtfully."
What stood out from the 30 of us, from cross-sectors drawing on lived leadership experience across industries and functions, were adaptability, courage, connection, hope, and that ice cream can be truly yummy and healthy! Ketojiak A participant authentically shared that she came for "therapy" as the onslaught of changes due to AI usage is overwhelming, confusing and isolating.
I’m grateful for the thoughtful exchange of ideas and energy in the room. People left with new perspectives, and even a few new friendships. Michelle wrote in LinkedIn her reflections that brilliantly summarizes the event.
I believe leadership today requires not only knowledge, but the willingness to stay curious, reflective, and in conversation with others navigating similar change.
I encourage you to keep the conversation going in your organisations, because individually, we don’t know what we don’t know. But in community, we are supported to see more distinctions, have patience and do right by the people in our lives.
