    When I face adversity...

    When I face adversity...
    Woon

Hear the grounded voice of Sir David Attenborough as he narrates how the critically endangered Gobi bear undertakes arduous journeys of up to 160 kilometers to find water in the waterless Gobi Desert in Asia. He speaks about the future of Gobi bears resting on these individuals.

When I saw the video title, I was expecting the Gobi bear to jump around, growl with glee and splash in the water.  I was clearly in fantasy land... the bear is tired, dehydrated and in shock to find water. Wait, I don't speak "bear", so what would I know anyways.

What I do know is that there are many moments when I feel dejected and disappointed. Not that my troubles would deserve a narration by Attenborough; but if he did, I imagine it would be concise - "She finds this moment trying and magnifies it with her seeming love for drama. How could she snap out of this? It's all in her own mind and hands."

So the next time I face adversity, I choose to have a big sip of water and remember the Gobi bears. I cannot send them water but I can send them love and generate positive energy in the process. See, even I am not jumping around, growling with glee and splashing in the water.
